Gaziantep Produces 120 Tons of Baklava a Day Ahead of Eid al-Adha
As Eid al-Adha approaches, baklava makers in Gaziantep, Turkey, have increased their daily production from 80 tons to 120 tons to meet the growing demand.
Specialized workshops and factories in Gaziantep began their intensive preparations around 10 to 15 days before the holiday.
Craftsmen start working in the early evening and continue through the night until morning without stopping, making sure that both local and international orders are completed on time and that market demand is fully met before Eid.
Gaziantep’s famous baklava goes through 24 different handmade production stages before it is ready to be displayed in stores for customers.
Packaging and shipping operations have also picked up significantly to keep pace with the longer working hours. The handmade baklava is carefully packed and then shipped to cities across Turkey and to international destinations by air and long-distance buses, ensuring that it reaches customers fresh during the holiday.
