Turkey Launches 81 New AI Programs at Universities Over Three Years

 Turkey's Council of Higher Education (YÖK) has announced that Turkish universities have launched 81 new academic programs in artificial intelligence and information technology over the past three years.

The council said 16 new programs were added this year alone, including interdisciplinary courses that combine the humanities with AI, such as "History and Artificial Intelligence" and "Philosophy and Artificial Intelligence."

Zafer Küçükşabanoğlu, President of the Artificial Intelligence Policies Association, said studies show that artificial intelligence is expected to create millions of jobs worldwide. He encouraged young people to develop AI skills regardless of their main field of study.

Meanwhile, Mustafa Çalış, President of the Turkish Programmers Federation, predicted a sharp rise in demand for graduates specializing in cybersecurity, robotics, and data analytics. He said young professionals in these fields are expected to become some of the most strategically important members of the future workforce.

Career opportunities in the digital sector continue to grow, with increasing demand for specialists in AI engineering, cybersecurity, big data analytics, digital game technologies, automation, and control systems.
