Turkey’s Measurement, Selection and Placement Center (ÖSYM) has announced unexpected changes to its 2026 examination calendar.
The decision comes as Turkey prepares to host the upcoming NATO Summit in the capital, Ankara. The major international event is expected to require extensive security and organizational measures that could affect transportation and movement throughout the city.
For this reason, ÖSYM has decided to reschedule several important national examinations in order to prevent traffic congestion and reduce any difficulties students may face during the exam period.
The Measurement, Selection and Placement Center is the government body responsible for organizing and administering most national examinations in Turkey.
The institution oversees:
University entrance examinations.
Graduate studies admission exams.
Foreign language proficiency tests.
Public sector recruitment exams.
Academic and professional specialization examinations.
Millions of students and graduates participate in these exams every year.
ÖSYM explained that the main reason behind the schedule changes is Ankara’s hosting of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization Summit in July 2026.
