Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan inaugurates the sixth edition of the "Traditional Sports" festival held in Antalya
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan inaugurated the sixth edition of the "Traditional Sports" festival held in the province of Antalya.
In his recorded message, Erdogan welcomed the foreign guests participating in the festival, wishing success to all participating athletes.
Erdogan revealed that representatives from various levels, coming from 50 countries around the world, are participating in the festival.
He expressed his hope that the festival's events would contribute to enhancing the climate of security and stability in the region and the world.
It is worth mentioning that the fifth edition of the festival, held annually, was hosted by Istanbul in 2022, while it was not held last year due to the devastating earthquake that struck southern Turkey on February 6.
At the same time, Erdogan spoke about the situation in Gaza, which he said shares the Mediterranean coast with Antalya.
He continued: "I am confident that the spirit of solidarity that will end the humanitarian tragedy in Gaza will be evident in this festival."
He emphasized that Turkey will continue to make every possible effort "to prevent crises, massacres, and suffering" in the region, with Gaza at the forefront.
