Free Admission to Körfez Aqua Continents Aquarium Extended Until June 28

Tahir Büyükakın, Mayor of Kocaeli, has announced that free admission to the Körfez Aqua Continents Aquarium, located in the Nation’s Garden in İzmit, has been extended until Sunday, June 28.

Büyükakın thanked the people of Kocaeli for the overwhelming interest in the aquarium, saying the free-entry period was extended due to the high number of visitors.

“We have extended free admission from Tuesday, June 23, through Sunday, June 28, except for Monday, which is reserved for maintenance,” he said.

He also invited everyone interested in exploring the fascinating underwater world to visit the aquarium and enjoy the experience.

Located in Kocaeli, the Körfez Aqua Continents Aquarium is Turkey’s first large-scale continental-themed aquarium. Spanning 2,800 square meters, it is home to more than 60 different species and thousands of marine creatures.

The facility features over 40 tanks with a total capacity of more than 1.3 million liters of water. It includes both freshwater and saltwater tunnels, taking visitors on a journey across continents, from Africa to South America.

Regular admission costs 300 Turkish lira, while student tickets are priced at 100 lira.

Special family packages are also available, with tickets costing 600 lira for a family of four and 1,000 lira for a family of eight.

Admission is completely free for children aged 0–3, seniors aged 65 and over, people with disabilities, and the families of martyrs and veterans.
