Istanbul Airport the Busiest in Europe in April
A report by the European aviation revealed that Istanbul Airport was the busiest in Europe, achieving this title with an average of 1428 flights during the period from April 8 to 14.
According to the report for the period from April 8 to 14, published by Eurocontrol, Istanbul Airport ranked first as the most crowded airport in Europe during this period.
Istanbul Airport witnessed a 10% increase in the number of flights compared to the same period last year, making it one of the top 10 busiest airports in the world.
Following Istanbul Airport, Amsterdam Schiphol Airport comes with an average of 1343 flights daily, followed by London Heathrow Airport with an average of 1311 flights daily.
The airport is located in the northwest of Istanbul, near Lake Terkos, and was officially opened on October 29, 2018, with a capacity to accommodate 500 aircraft.
