Reopening of Karaköy Coast to the Public in Istanbul
The municipality of Beyoğlu in Istanbul has announced the reopening of "Karaköy Coast" after making several modifications to it.
The municipality revealed the removal of prefabricated huts and the surrounding fences on the beach, which had caused the closure of the beach to public use.
Concrete was also poured in the area of the Turkish Maritime Institutions' dock located in the Karaköy district, known as Karaköy Coast in Beyoğlu.
The area for public use has been designated, and pedestrian flow and ship docking have been prohibited in this area.
It is worth mentioning that due to citizens' objections to the implementation of pedestrian zone restrictions, municipal teams headed to the dock and removed the security booth located on the beach.
