The Turkish government has started preparations to distribute certain social benefits to citizens using this new card, in cooperation with Halkbank.
This new payment method will replace the previous system, where some payments were made through PTT.
According to Turkish media, the new system is set to start on July 1, 2026. Some social payments—especially disability pensions and other types of aid—will be transferred to a special account at Halkbank under the beneficiary’s name. From there, people can use the Aile Kart to withdraw cash from ATMs or pay directly in shops.
Earlier, Turkey’s Ministry of Family and Social Services said that the Aile Kart is part of a broader plan to bring all social aid payments into a more organized and user-friendly system. The idea is to have all benefits delivered through a single card that can be used for both withdrawals and purchases.
Ministry data shows that the rollout started with certain types of support, like childbirth assistance, and other programs will be added gradually.
People who are included in the new system are expected to receive official messages explaining how and where to collect their Aile Kart from Halkbank branches.
