The new baggage rules on the Istanbul Metro
Istanbul Metro issued a statement announcing the implementation of a set of new rules regarding the carrying of bags in metro cars.
The statement explained that the purpose of these rules is to "ensure passenger comfort and safety."
The statement revealed that bags weighing more than 30 kilograms or measuring 120 x 60 x 50 centimeters will not be permitted.
Large camping bags will also be considered restricted bags.
According to the statement, each passenger is allowed to carry only one large suitcase, in addition to a small handbag or medium-sized backpack.
Passengers entering with more than one bag will be required to pay an additional fee equivalent to the cost of one ticket.
The company emphasized the need not to place bags on seats or in aisles, emphasizing the importance of using the designated spaces near the doors to avoid inconvenience and congestion.
