Turkey Launches Digital Nomad Visa to Attract Remote Workers
The Turkish government announced the launch of a new visa program, the Digital Nomad Visa, to attract a new segment of foreign professionals and remote workers.
Turkish newspapers reported that the visa allows digital professionals from several countries to reside in Turkey for extended periods and work from there, while benefiting from its modern infrastructure and rich cultural and historical environment.
The visa requirements include that the applicant be between the ages of 21 and 55, hold a university degree, prove an external source of income of at least $36,000 annually, and have a passport valid for at least six months.
The application process begins with obtaining a "Digital Nomad Status Determination Certificate" through the GoTürkiye platform, before completing the visa application process at Turkish consulates.
The list of eligible countries currently includes most European Union countries, in addition to the United States, Canada, and several other countries. The possibility of expanding the list to include more countries has not yet been announced. Nationalities.
