The Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK) has released a statement on real estate sales for the first half of 2025.
According to the statement, home sales in Turkey from January to July 2025 increased by 24.2%, reaching 834,751 homes.
Istanbul, Ankara, and Izmir ranked as the top three cities for sales.
Data shows that home sales across Turkey in July rose by 12.4% compared to the same month last year, totaling 142,858 homes.
Of these sales, 18,425 homes were purchased through bank loans, with loan-financed sales accounting for 12.9% of the total.
From January to July, sales increased by 24.2% to 834,751 homes. This is the second-highest figure for this period in history, with the record set in 2020 at 854,126 homes.
Mortgaged home sales (loan-financed) in the first seven months also surged by 93.2% to 121,515 homes. Despite continued high interest rates, loan-financed home sales have nearly doubled.
July saw the highest monthly sales figure for the year. From January to July 2025, 139,635 homes were sold in Istanbul, 75,093 in Ankara, and 49,679 in Izmir.
The percentage increases in sales for these three cities during the first seven months were 16.73% for Istanbul, 9.10% for Ankara, and 5.95% for Izmir.
