
Population of Türkiye Increases by 300,000 People in 2024
The Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK) revealed that the population of Türkiye grew by 292,567 people last year.
According to the statement from the institute, the population of Türkiye reached 85 million, 664 thousand, and 944 people in 2024.
The data from the "2024 Address-Based Population Registration System" showed that the annual population growth rate increased from 1.1 per thousand in 2023 to 3.4 per thousand in 2024.
The institute recorded the male population at 50.02%, while the female population was 49.98%.
The percentage of people living in urban centers and districts increased from 93% in 2023 to 93.4% in 2024.
On the other hand, the percentage of people living in towns and villages decreased from 7% to 6.6%.
The number of foreigners living in Türkiye decreased by 89,996 people during the same period, reaching 1 million, 480 thousand, and 547 people.
