Salah Arrives in Turkey to Join Trabzonspor Amid a Hero's Welcome and Historic Celebrations

Egyptian football superstar Mohamed Salah arrived at Atatürk Airport this morning ahead of completing his move to Trabzonspor, where he was welcomed by thousands of fans in what many described as a legendary reception.

Salah landed at Atatürk International Airport on Trabzonspor President Ertuğrul Doğan’s private jet after flying in from the Greek island of Mykonos, where he had been spending his vacation.

Large crowds of Trabzonspor supporters gathered to welcome him after waiting in the streets since last night, following the club’s announcement that the transfer deal had been completed.

While on the plane, Salah appeared in a video shared by Trabzonspor on its social media accounts, saying in English, "Trabzon, are you ready? I can hear you."

He then switched to Turkish, saying, "For us, everywhere is Trabzon," referring to one of the club’s famous fan chants.

Trabzonspor had announced last night that it had officially started negotiations to sign Salah and also filed the required disclosure with Turkey’s Public Disclosure Platform (KAP).

The club also issued strict instructions to fans planning to welcome the Egyptian star. It said Salah is expected to arrive at Trabzon Airport at 8:00 p.m. local time and asked supporters to avoid using their private cars as much as possible to help prevent heavy traffic.

The club also urged fans not to set off large numbers of fireworks in order to protect public health and avoid disrupting air traffic at the airport.

Trabzonspor concluded its statement by saying, "Thank you for your understanding and cooperation in helping us organize a safe and healthy welcome ceremony."

After arriving, Salah underwent routine medical tests before heading to the city of Trabzon to complete the final steps of his official transfer to the club.
