New Turkish Law to Control Excessive Housing Complex Fees
The Turkish government has announced a new draft law aimed at controlling excessive increases in housing complex fees.
The Public Works, Zoning, Transport, and Tourism Committee in the Turkish Parliament has approved the draft law, which requires housing complex managements to be more transparent before raising monthly fees.
Under the new law, managements must provide residents with a detailed breakdown of expenses and services before approving any new fee increase.
Committee Chairman Adil Karaismailoğlu said that any change or increase in fees will be illegal unless it is clearly presented to residents and approved by them.
He explained that the goal of the law is to protect residents from overpriced fees and ensure fair and transparent management.
Karaismailoğlu added that the changes come in response to growing complaints from residents, especially in Istanbul, about sudden and irregular increases in monthly fees in some housing complexes.
The law is expected to reduce financial exploitation and increase trust between residents and housing complex managements across Turkey.
