On the occasion of Children's Day... Turkish provinces offer free public transportation and close several roads
Several Turkish provinces have announced the provision of free public transportation in many districts and the closure of some roads to traffic on April 23, 2024, Children's Day.
The Ankara General Directorate of EGO announced the provision of free public transportation in many districts of the city on Children's Day for the year 2024.
According to this decision, the opportunity to use buses and the metro for free will be available to the city's residents on this special day.
This announcement is part of the company's efforts to support and encourage events dedicated to children and to promote the concept of caring for and nurturing them.
At the same time, the province of Izmir announced the provision of free public transportation during the Children's Day and National Sovereignty holiday on April 23, 2024.
Closure of Some Roads
The Istanbul Police Department announced the closure of some roads in the Şişli area of Istanbul tomorrow, Thursday, April 23.
The roads to be closed to traffic and the available alternatives as alternative routes have been identified, according to the guidelines issued by the Traffic Inspection Branch Directorate.
The changes will be effective between 11:00 AM and 5:00 PM.
The roads to be closed to traffic are:
1. Silahşör Street, from the Republic area to the intersection of Harzemşah Street.
2. Dr. Şevket Bey Veterinary Medicine Street, from the entrance of Dr. Şevket Bey Street to the intersection of Hamidiye Soyu Street, in the Yayla area.
3. Talimhane Street, from its entrance to the intersection of Eczacı Street.
4. Kısmet Street, from its entrance to the intersection of Lati Lokum Street in Mecidiyeköy Mahallesi Çağlar Street.
5. Mithat Paşa Street, from its entrance to the intersection of Ornek Street in Mahmud Şevket Paşa Mahallesi Aydın 1 Street.
As alternatives to these roads, the following streets can be used:
1. Silahşör Caddesi and Harzemşah.
2. Dr. Şevket Bey, Opr. Raif Bey, Talimhane, Hilal, and Kısmet streets.
3. Mithat Paşa and Ornek streets.
