Erdogan decides: Turkish Students Can Receive Monthly Payments of Up to 19,000 Liras
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has announced financial support for students in Turkey amounting to 1,375 Turkish liras per day, bringing the total to 19,250 liras per month.
Erdoğan announced that the quota for the Turkish Employment Agency’s (İŞKUR) Youth Program has been increased to 150,000 participants for the 2026–2027 cycle.
The program provides participating students with financial support of 1,375 Turkish liras per day, totaling 19,250 liras per month for students who participate for 14 days.
In addition, İŞKUR will cover health insurance and workplace accident insurance. Eligible participants will also receive an additional payment of 1,250 liras, along with special discounts.
Target Groups
- Students enrolled at public universities, including two-year associate degree programs, bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral programs, provided they have active status in formal education.
Working Arrangements
- The program allows students to gain work experience while continuing their studies, with working hours of up to three days per week and a maximum of 7.5 hours per day.
The Ministry of Labour stated that applications are submitted entirely online through İŞKUR’s unified electronic platform, İŞKUR e-Şube, or through the official youth platform for the program, İŞKUR GÜÇ.
There is no single application deadline for all provinces. Each public university in Turkey announces its own vacancies and application schedule in coordination with the provincial İŞKUR directorate.
Students are therefore advised to regularly check the “Announcements” (Duyurular) section of their university’s official website.
Following the initial screening process, final participants are selected through a public lottery conducted under the supervision of a notary (Noter Kurası) to ensure full transparency.
