The Electronic Notification System "UETS" for Tracking Renewal of Foreigners' Residency Permits in Turkey
On April 1st of this year, Turkey launched a new national electronic notification system called UETS (National Electronic Notification System), aimed at facilitating the process of renewing residency permits for foreigners in the country.
The primary purpose of the UETS system is to facilitate secure electronic communication between government departments and individuals, eliminating the need for personal visits to immigration centers.
You can receive notifications, respond to inquiries, and complete procedures related to renewing your residency permit entirely online.
The system aims to electronically send and deliver notifications between the reporting party and the state, without the need to visit an immigration center.
Additionally, the notification system allows government departments to respond to individuals electronically before sending paper notifications, such as reporting residency permit results or document deficiencies.
It is worth noting that filling out the "UETS" form will be mandatory for residency permit extension applications and for matters related to work and procedures concerning foreigners.
Starting from April 15th, foreigners will be required to add the "UETS" application form to their files for submission on the appointment day.
What is UETS and How Does It Work?
UETS is a secure platform developed and operated by PTT A.Ş. (Turkish Post and Telegraph Organization) for electronic notification transactions.
It allows the Turkish government to electronically send official notifications and documents to you, which you can access through your user account.
Foreigners with an electronic signature can apply for "UETS" online through the website www.etebligat.gov.tr
How It Works:
1. Logging into the System
- Login to the "UETS" account via the user portal using the username and password, and verify through SMS, electronic signature, or even mobile phone signature.
2. Notification via SMS and Email
- Upon receiving a "UETS" message in your mailbox, an information message is sent by "UETS" to your mobile phone and email address.
3. Reading Confirmation
- A confirmation is created that the message has been read by the recipient, which the sender can view from the system.
Requirements for Foreigners Applying for "UETS":
1. Foreign ID number and passport.
2. GSM number (mobile phone number).
3. Valid email address.
After providing all the mentioned information and filling out the "UETS" application form, you can receive the notification number from PTT branches.
